Dr Angela Gallop
Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science (DSc) in recognition of her contribution to national and international forensic science in the support of justice.
The role of science in the cause of justice has swelled enormously during the past few decades and for most of that period Dr Angela Gallop has been an influential part of it, first with the Home Office and more recently in the independent sector of forensic services.
She is a past president of the Forensic Science Society and was a founding member of the Governing Council for the Registration of Forensic Practitioners. Her work has provided defence lawyers, police and other investigators with access to comprehensive scientific insight into evidence, including several high-profile convictions and cases where miscarriages of justice have been overturned.
Dr Gallop has been a keynote conference speaker at NTU where she continues to have links with the School of Science and Technology.
