An Inaugural Lecture by Professor Eiluned Edwards, School of Art & Design
From local knowledge to ‘local knowledge’

Professor Eiluned Edwards' ongoing research looks at the intersection of fashion and craft in India, and recognising the importance of historical periods such as the 17th century when Indian painted and printed cottons ("chintz") drove the development of global fashions, new technologies and trade, examines the contemporary relationship between craft production and luxury fashion.

Biography

Professor Edwards' work at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) embraces research and teaching across the MA programmes as well as M.Phil/PhD supervision. She is also a Research Associate at the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, and contributes to courses at the V&A.
