Highest ever ranking in national league table

1 May 2019

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) has achieved its highest ever ranking in a national university guide after rising 25 places in the past three years.

The Complete University Guide 2020, published today (May 1), shows Nottingham Trent University moved up four places – the most of any East Midlands’ university – to be in 38th position out of 131 institutions.

It builds on the University’s climb during the previous two years and means NTU has reached its highest ever position in the guide, which ranks universities on 10 measures including student satisfaction, research quality, graduate prospects and spending on student facilities.

NTU is also named in the top 10 for seven subject areas.

The table’s release follows the Guardian’s naming of Nottingham Trent, in April, as its University of the Year. NTU was also Times Higher Education University of the Year in 2017 and the Times and Sunday Times Modern University of the Year in 2018.

Professor Edward Peck, Vice-Chancellor of Nottingham Trent University, said: “This ranking is further confirmation of our commitment and achievement in improving the student experience and helping them to attain outstanding outcomes.”
