Global award for law school lecturer

Nottingham Law School lecturer, Matthew J. Homewood, has been presented with a 2017 Global Legal Skills Award in recognition of his significant contribution to the promotion and improvement of global legal skills.
Matthew, acting head of Postgraduate Programmes, received the honour at a recent academic conference in Mexico where he was sharing his experience of using social media to provide collaborative student study support networks.
Matthew was congratulated on the international impact of his work in using technology to enhance the student academic experience, his extensive experience in teaching, and his role in leading innovative curriculum development across a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
He said: “It was a huge surprise and a genuine honour to receive the award, especially given how many very experienced, talented and acclaimed academics attended the Global Legal Skills Conference and how many countries were represented.”
Matthew has also recently been honoured with a Higher Education Academy National Teaching Fellowship and has made the final shortlist for the Law Teacher of the Year Award 2017.
Nottingham Law School, part of Nottingham Trent University, was named Legal Education Provider of the Year 2016 by Solicitors Journal and also boasts an award-winning Legal Advice Centre.
