Taipei alumni celebrate Royal Wedding
13 May 2011
NTU alumni based in Taiwan enjoyed a special reception on 29 April 2011 at Alleycats Restaurant in the well-known Hua Shan Cultural Park in central Taipei.
To tie in with the Royal Wedding, the event had a red, white and blue theme – also reflecting the shared colours of the British and Taiwanese flags and the NTU logo. Guests were asked to wear an item of clothing which is red, white or blue.
The event marked the launch of the NTU Taiwan Alumni Association which will be headed up by NTU Graduate Peggy Hou (MA English Language Teaching 2006).
Over 40 guests attended the event including alumni from all three NTU colleges, spanning subjects from MBA to Computing to TV Journalism. A number of students who will join NTU in September 2011 also joined the event to get a first hand account of life at NTU from our Alumni.
Graduate Eva Sung (MA Fashion Design 2007) gave a short presentation to the guests about her experiences of working for Alexander McQueen during her time in the UK and was followed by Vice Chancellor Professor Neil Gorman who gave an update to the students about all the recent developments at NTU including some fantastic images of the Newton Arkwright redevelopment.
