Grab a graduation goody bag... and a selfie!

8 July 2014

Daro with bagsStephen DixonA big hello to all of you who are about to graduate this monthAfter all your hard work this is the week where you can kick back and soak up the glory of your achievement. It's a time you will always remember.

The sad thing is that it marks the end of your studies time at NTU, but as I say every year, graduation is not goodbye. We want to be a part of your life - the ups and downs -  from here on in. Keep in touch with developments at NTU and let us know how you're getting on. We're also a great way to maintain contact with your friends if you lose touch. So here's how you do it...

Register online now and then on your graduation day just pop to the alumni stand in Newton building where we will have a goody bag ready for you to take away! You'll also be entered in to a competition with a chance to win £50 of Amazon vouchers. Not bad eh?

Alternatively you'll have to join the queue at the alumni stall and fill in a form with your updated details (how 20th century!) and then a goody bag is yours.

However you do it, I will be on hand for much of the week to help dish out those bags and pass on my congratulations. Why not grab me for a selfie? This year if you send us a graduation selfie we will publish it on our social media platforms and the best will win some special "Daro Duck" prizes - so be creative! Send your pics to alumni@ntu.ac.uk with the subject head "Graduation Selfie Competition" and then check outTwitter and Facebook.

I know a lot of you are lucky enough to be walking straight in to jobs, and congratulations for that, but if you're not, don't panic. It's early days and there is lots of help we can give you. We have a jobs board in the Alumni Online Community which you can access to see the latest opportunities, and don’t forget you can still use the services of our Employability Team, so do get in touch.

You have all achieved so much in your time at NTU and I am very proud to welcome you into our alumni family. I look forward to seeing you on your big day!

Stephen
