Alumni and Industry Fellowship Programme

Volunteer as part of our Alumni and Industry Fellowship Programme and make a difference to the lives of Nottingham Trent University (NTU) students. Our worldwide network of 1,000 talented alumni and industry volunteers give their time to support, encourage, and inspire our current students and recent graduates.

What is the Programme?

What's in it for our Fellows?

The Alumni and Industry Fellowship Programme utilises its diverse and talented cohort of alumni to add value and enrich the experiences of both current and previous students. Focusing on supporting students from identified disadvantaged backgrounds, it increases their social capital, and prioritises activity associated with developing employability skills.

From speaking at events and mentoring students, to providing guided interview practice and publishing blogs, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved – wherever you are in the world, and whatever your interests might be. Your knowledge, skills, connections, and experience could make the key difference to our students’ professional prospects. There is no time requirement for volunteering with us – our programme is flexible; and is designed to work around your own interests and availability.

NTU prides itself on being an inclusive community and we particularly welcome applications from alumni who represent the diversity of our local communities and wider society.

New programme developments

The Alumni and Industry Fellowship Programme is a collaborative initiative. Feedback from volunteers is regularly sought, with the aim of creating a programme that offers flexibility, reflects the different stages of professional and personal lives, and transcends geographical borders.

Throughout the summer the team have been working to incorporate these suggestions into future plans, some of the key changes include:

  • Greater focus on supporting employability skills amongst some of our most disadvantaged cohorts of students
  • The introduction of a series of social, professional and industry specific workshops to allow Fellows to develop their own skills and insights
  • Additional opportunities to support recent graduates to establish themselves professionally
  • Greater transparency in evidencing the impact the programme is having
  • Enhanced recognition of volunteering milestones.

It was a pleasure to participate, the steady stream of questions was realistic, insightful and on point.

Meet the team

We aim to build an active and engaged alumni community by providing opportunities for alumni to connect with each other and with the University.

It was great to come along to the Mansfield Fellows welcome event. I was incredibly impressed and proud to see the development and vision of the NTU provision in Mansfield and look forward to supporting as a Fellow.
