In 2014 we celebrated the 50th anniversary of our first law students graduating and launched the Friends of Nottingham Law School Fund.

This is an opportunity for Nottingham Law School alumni and friends to positively influence the delivery of University legal education and to equip our students to make a significant contribution to communities both at home and overseas. We hope that you will wish to join us by making a donation.

Nottingham Law School Legal Advice Centre

One key development in the last 50 years took place in 2006 when the Law School established a law clinic. The clinic covers a number of areas of advice and representation, pro bono work and legal outreach activity. We marked our 50 years with the launch of a new, unique and ground breaking teaching law firm - the Nottingham Law School Legal Advice Centre, which was officially opened by the Attorney General in June 2014.

This not for profit Legal Advice Centre will:

  • become a leading university provider of the highest quality legal services to individuals and communities, providing access to justice, and seeking to fulfil an otherwise unmet legal need.

  • provide outstanding educational opportunities for our students, equipping them with the resources to develop knowledge and skills sets that will enable them to excel in their chosen career, whether that be in a legal or a non-legal profession.

  • facilitate increased overseas placement/internships and international pro bono opportunities and develop new international links, particularly in countries with developing economies.

Whether you choose to donate or not, please do stay in touch with us. You can keep up to date with the upcoming activities through our website www.ntu.ac.uk/50years, where you can also share your memories of the Law School and University.

Telling your Friends
We have contacted many of the alumni we know studied within Nottingham Law School, but we are aware that we aren't in contact with all of our graduates, and the earlier you graduated the less likely we are to be in contact with all of your classmates. Keeping in touch with our alumni is important to us for many reasons, including the fact that you are the best ambassadors that the University has.

To help your friends update their details, please send them this link - www.ntualumni.org.uk/update. If they wish, they can then update their details to ensure that they receive the latest news from us, and they will also be able to get involved in the work of Nottingham Law School.
